About the Event

A nine-concert series with the Emily Carr String Quartet

Christ Church Cathedral and the Emily Carr String Quartet are pleased to announce their second series together since the outbreak of the pandemic. Following on the resounding success of their Portraits series, the quartet has planned a complete performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s string quartets over nine concerts beginning on March 12 and running into the Fall of 2021.

Each performance will feature an introduction by Robert Holliston.

The first performances will be livestreamed at www.christchurchcathedral.bc.ca/live (also on Facebook and YouTube) with no in-person audience. 7pm
All concerts are free to watch online. Please consider making a donation to offset the costs of these concerts and to support the artists.

March 12, 2021 – Concert #1: Quartet no. 3 in D major, Op. 18, no. 3 and Quartet no. 15 in A minor, Op. 132
April 9, 2021 – Concert #2: Quartet no. 2 in G major, Op. 18, no. 2 and Quartet no. 8 in E minor, Op. 59, no. 2
May 14, 2021 – Concert #3: Quartet no. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 131
June 11, 2021 – Concert #4: Quartet no. 1 in F major, Op. 18, no. 1 and Quartet no. 10 in E-flat major, “Harp” Op. 74
